As we ring in 2020, we reflect on a turbulent year helping our friends at Old Bahama Bay rebuild after Hurricane Dorian. Winner’s Circle Charities was the first organization cleared by the President of OBB to arrive at the docks, and swiftly organized donation drop-off locations, sponsored Costco trips, and secured hundreds of boats to respond to the needs of families and friends in the Bahamas. Rest assured, OBB is back and better than ever! If it wasn’t for the Winner’s Circle Charities Fishing Tournament every year, Winner’s Circle Charities would not have had the immediate resources available to facilitate such a timely response, so thank you so much to every team who participates every single year!

“We’re excited to be able to have OBB as our host for our 21st year,” Said Mike Schmidt, Baseball Hall of Famer and founder of Winner’s Circle Charities, “And we look forward to the fishing, festivities, and familiar faces that make this tournament one of the best in the Bahamas!”

The preparations for the 2020 Reel Gala and Fishing Tournament are well underway. The Reel Gala and Casino Night will once again be hosted at The Club at Admirals Cove on April 4th, and this year the theme will be “Boogie Nights”, so wear your best 70’s attire!

A few weeks later on April 22nd, we will head over to the Bahamas to fish the annual Winner’s Circle Charities Fishing Tournament! As usual, the Grand Champion is the boat who weighs in the greatest total weight of the three target species – one tuna, one dolphin, and one wahoo. This is a dead bait or lures only & no chumming tournament. Last year’s Grand Champion was MR. LTD for the second year in a row, who brought in an aggregate weight of 171.9 pounds for their top 3 fish! In 2018, we had three tournament records broken; MR. LTD with a 99 lb wahoo and a 115 lb yellowfin tuna, and PLUM KRAZY reeled in a 63 lb dolphin. Needless to say, every year is an exciting experience!

On behalf of the Executive Committee and our charity partners, The Richard David Kann Melanoma FoundationThe Marine Industry Education Foundation, and Waterfront Way Foundation, Winner’s Circle Charities thanks you for your support.

The 2020 Gala will be on Saturday, April 4th at The Club at Admiral’s Cove, and tickets are $250 a person. Purchase your tickets by clicking here.>
